Venue Description:
The Society's headquarters are hugely versatile and can host events ranging from meetings and conferences to parties, dinner dances, receptions and weddings.
The Ondaatje Theatre can accommodate 450 for a conferences and 750 for lectures, and is also used for opera, concerts and press launches.
Overlooking Kensington Gardens, the Society’s headquarters were designed by Norman Shaw as a private house in the 1870s.
The Society bought the house in 1912 and an extension, including the recently refurbished Ondaatje Theatre, was added in 1930 to mark the Society’s centenary.
In 2004 the Society opened new conference and seminar facilities, a spectacular glass pavilion exhibition area and a re-landscaped garden
