The Modern Pantry is housed in two handsome Georgian buildings in Saint John’s Square, Clerkenwell. The larger of the two buildings was originally part of an adjacent steel foundry, while the other was a townhouse. The Modern Pantry offers a range of dining options:

The Cafe is situated on the ground floor and is a modern, casual dining space serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. The informal dining room seats up to 40 people while the small bar serves an eclectic selection of wines and cocktails. Our outdoor dining space in the Square itself has space for 24 diners.

The Restaurant on the first floor has two elegant, light filled dining rooms overlooking St John’s Square, serving modern fusion food. The classic heritage features are complemented by contemporary design, creating an intimate and relaxing atmosphere.

Set lunch menu is on offer for £17.50 for two courses and £22 for three courses

Private dining is available for up to 60 guests, perfect for larger parties and weddings.

The Pantry serves an enticing range of inspired delicatessen dishes to takeaway. You are able to pre-order birthday cakes, sandwiches for meetings & dinner for two. Local delivery is also available

The Modern Pantry can be booked for exclusive hire on any day of the week. For the use of the entire space we require a minimum spend of £6000 on any day of the week. The Dining Rooms on the first floor can be hired together or separately. The minimum spend for both rooms Sunday – Wednesday is £1800 and Thursday to Saturday £2400. For one room, we charge £900 and £1200 minimum.
